“Beau Leisure, fond memories, I remember the original line up cos I was in it. Clive and me played in a band called 'Glass' while Dave Powell was a member of 'The Naughty Boys'. Neil Tomkinson who was the drummer with The Freshies was also in the original line up as was Mike Drinnan from Leigh, who also played drums. Yep 2 drummers in the one band, a sort of new romantic shawaddywaddy.

We held down 3 or 4 successful residencies, one being The Unicorn in Alty, which was sort of inherited from the 'Glass' days and we also held residencies at The Wilton in Prestwich, The Albert in Whitefield and The Seymour in Chorlton.

Best memories were recording the radio.1 sessions at the BBC in Hulme where they recorded the first ever Top of the Pops and a rather triumphant and alcohol fuelled night at Manchester University.

We were the first band to be managed by John Noel who still looks after some rather successful folk to this day, including most of the Big Brother mob and more besides. Happy Day's”
